Courses and workshops

I offer different types of courses and workshops around science communication and outreach. They can be adapted to all proficiency levels, and can be held on-site, online, or both. The length and topics covered are up to you. I look forward to working with you on developing a workshop for your team or group. Below are two examples of half-day workshops.

The fundamentals of science communication

Have you considered doing some science communication but don’t know where to start? Or do you feel like your science outreach is not as effective as you’d like it to be? In this workshop, we take a closer look at what constitutes science communication and why it is essential if we jointly want to solve the problems facing our society. You will then be introduced to a number of basic principles and tools that will help you boost your skills and overcome stumbling blocks.

This workshop will help you focus by uncovering your aims, target audiences, and priorities and by selecting a combination of channels, methods, and platforms that best suit your purposes. In short: You will create your own personal science outreach toolbox.

«The junior scientists of our university priority program ITINERARE recently participated in Sabine’s workshop on science communication, and it was a real game changer. Sabine masterfully combined theory with practical exercises, making complex concepts easy to grasp. Her didactic skills were remarkable and created an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Sabine not only taught us the basics of science communication, but also showed us how to apply them within our own research. The practical tools and techniques she gave us were invaluable. I highly recommend Sabine to anyone who wants to sharpen their science communication skills. Thanks to her, we are now better equipped to communicate our scientific findings.»
